Valkyrie v2.0

In 2013, Mr Erdogan used his army to violently suppress crowds in Istanbul, who were protesting his plans to destroy a public park, for his new building proposals. During the recent coup attempt he, (hypocritically?), called on the people to fill the public squares in opposition, in the name of democracy!
“I recognise no authority greater than the people” he said during the coup attempt (except when they disagree with him, of course) Now he states it’s democratic to give the people “what they(?) want” - i.e. the reintroduction of the death penalty. Where will that precedent end? Heaven forbid.

Kind of reminds me of Mark 15:11 - "But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead."

Mehmed III?

If Mr Erdogan truly loves "Democracy" so much... we'll see him step down, when the time for it (legally) comes. Is a Facist-Theocracy coming to the region? If so, the next thing will be a romanticised revamp of Ottoman/Turkish history in the local media and schools.*  (see update at end) Then a reclaiming of past glory, beyond the nation's borders. Well, we've seen this sort of thing before, via the Thule and Vrill societies in pre-war Germany. There was a lot of talk, talk and more talk then, of course.

Not saying the coup was right by the way; the current government WAS elected, but with the way the chess pieces seem to be positioning themselves, all the crocodile tears over this attack on "democracy" could prove ironic if they're a means to an end.

"But I was only following orders"

So, to continue the comparison, perhaps history will one day see General Akin Ozturk’s failed coup in Turkey (assuming it wasn’t a staged “false flag” event?) as we now see General Friedrich Olbricht’s failed plan to remove Adolf Hitler? Too much smoke and mirrors at work, to tell just yet. This, in itself, indicates that things are not what they seem ...time will tell. Hopefully the innocent won't have to suffer, because of anyone's selfish ambition or delusions of grandeur.

A servant-hearted government, toward a people they represent and by the same token, respect for (just) law and the elected officials, by the people, would prove an antidote. Fear, should not govern.

John Kerry's recent comments were excellent!

God bless you, people of Turkey; may He give you wisdom, patience and peace, at this time.

UPDATE: 19/7/2016 - regarding control of education and media*:
"The crackdown was escalated Tuesday, as the government announced the firing of nearly 24,000 teachers and Interior Ministry employees and demanded the resignations of another 1,577 university deans. The dismissals touched every aspect of government life.
Turkish media, in rapid-fire reports, said the Education Ministry had fired 15,200 educators, while the Interior Ministry dismissed 8,777 employees and Turkey's Board of Higher Education called for the deans' resignations."

Winter Is Coming

We can all vote... but if it's ignored and "they" install what they want anyway... we're into the realm of tyranny! Days of the Knife edge. The current shenanigans around both the race for a new (unelected!!!) Conservative leader and the attempt to take-out Labour's Jeremy Corbin, smells rotten.
Keep on praying folks... nothing's settled yet.
